Garden State natives Fran and Bob Schmitt are ready to flee the cold of Forked River, N.J., and retire to the island oasis of St. Maarten. Fran has always said that the stork dropped her in the wrong spot, and after they cruised the Caribbean a few years ago, she knew she was meant to live on a tropical island.
